Brunswick police officer resigns as charges loom

ladycopBRUNSWICK, Ga. — A Brunswick police officer who was involved in an altercation with her stepdaughter at a public high school in October during school hours has left the police department. Marcia Myers-Bue submitted her resignation from the Brunswick Police Department Monday, two weeks after being arrested for an alleged physical altercation with her teenage stepdaughter at Brunswick High School.Myers-Bue had been on paid administrative leave since her arrest Oct. 23 on misdemeanor charges of battery under the Georgia Family Violence Act and also for disruption of a public school. Brunswick Police Chief Kevin Jones accepted Myers-Bue’s resignation, but noted that she will be missed by members of the department. She had been with the Brunswick police force for nearly eight years, serving without incident prior to the confrontation with her stepdaughter in front of several students, according to reports.
