Former deputies found not guilty of involuntary manslaughter in Ajibade case

Former deputies Maxine Evans and Jason Kenny have been found not guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of 21-year-old Mathew Ajibade. Kenny was also found not guilty of aggravated assault or perjury, but guilty of cruelty to an inmate. Evans was found guilty of public record fraud and three counts of perjury for her false grand jury testimony regarding the restraint chair log.  Corizon Health Nurse Gregory Brown was found not guilty of public record fraud but guilty of making a false statement. Brown was acquitted of the involuntary manslaughter on Tuesday after Judge James Bass, Jr. granted the motion for a directed verdict.
