Johnson Square robbery suspect arrested

suspectSAVANNAH – Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police have arrested Daniel Brantley, 19, for an armed robbery in Johnson Square late Monday night. Metro responded to a reported gun discharge in the square on Bull and Congress streets at 11:46 p.m. Downtown Precinct patrol officers located  Alicia Patterson, 29, and Seth Myers, 27, who were robbed at gunpoint minutes earlier. Metro Robbery detectives believe the suspect opened fire after realizing that one of the victims also was armed with a gun. The victim and suspect exchanged fire before the suspect ran west toward Bryan Street. No injuries were reported. Police located Brantley on Drayton and Bay streets with a gun tied to the crime scene was in his possession. Brantley is charged with armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during commission of a crime.
