librarySAVANNAH – The Asa H. Gordon Library on the campus of Savannah State University will be the Savannah hub for National Voter Registration Day later this month, the University announced on Wednesday. On Sept.22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the lobby of the library will be staffed with people to assist in the voting registration process. These volunteers will take participants through the steps of filling out and submitting the application for approval. Those wishing to register should bring a Georgia-issued driver’s license or ID card or other government-issued photo ID and an official document showing current name and address, such as a utility bill, bank statement, pay check or other government document. National Voter Registration Day is a non-partisan event designed to create an annual moment when the entire nation focuses on registering Americans to exercise their right to vote.
