The Southbound crew is getting excited for the Savannah Craft Brew Fest coming up this weekend. As Savannah’s first production brewery, we’ve been honored to be a part of the festival for the past few years. We’ve sponsored the corn hole tournament and the photo both, so when the title sponsor spot opened up we had to snag it!We are going to have seven incredible brews ready for all of the patrons to enjoy. Of course we will have our flagship beers, the Hop’lin IPA and Scattered Sun Belgian Wit. We will also be featuring two of our one-off beers Transilience and Loving Cup. Transilience is our Imperial Berliner Weisse with mangos and pomegranates. It’s a German sour wheat that’s light, tart, refreshing and comes in around 7%. Loving Cup is our version of a Saison, but it’s a little different from what you would normally find. We’ve used Brettanomyces, which is a wild yeast that gives it notes of pineapple and funk. We also dry hopped it with Simcoe hops, which give it intense passion fruit and woodsy aromas. They are both pretty fantastic brews! In addition to those we’ve got three collaboration beers on tap. First off we’ve got the Moonlight Drive. We saved last year’s version of this for a special occasion and decided to bring it our for the fest. It’s an Imperial Coffee Stout brewed with locally roasted PERC coffee. It’s incredibly smooth. We also have a collaboration we brewed up with Moon River Brewing Co. here in Savannah, called Duppy Conquerer. It’s a sour India Red Ale and when we say red, we mean red. This tart brew is going to be amazing on such a warm day. Last but not least, we’ve got our newest collaboration with our friends from Rock 106.1, Black Circle. It’s a Double Cascadian Dark Ale coming in around 9.1% so think dark and hoppy. Kotter and Marshall decided they wanted to take it a step further and we created a cask with this brew that has ghost peppers in it. Pretty sure people may have to sign a waiver for that one! There are tons of beer events around town all week long. We have one each day of the week! From our release of Black Circle at Wild Wing Café on Wednesday to Brothers in Brewing at Tybee Island Social Club on Sunday.  All of these can be found posted under the events section on our Facebook page. Speaking of Wild Wing, they will have a booth at the Brew Fest featuring a super tasty beer cheese made with our Hop’lin IPA. Be sure to bring those pretzel necklaces for that!I certainly wouldn’t want to miss out on any of these great events, especially the brew fest. There are going to be a ton of incredible beers there, so I would recommend snagging a ticket now before they sell out! See you Saturday, folks!
